Labiaplasty (nymphoplasty, labia minora reduction) reduces labia minora that are too large and cause cosmetic or functional discomfort (clothing, intercourse). Depending on their appearance, the reduction is longitudinal (edge) or V-shaped (wedge); the clitoral hood can be reduced at the same time. The procedure takes 45 minutes at the Clinique Oxford in Cannes, under general anaesthesia, as day surgery. It causes little pain and there are no stitches to remove; the swelling lasts about 21 days; intercourse, sport and baths can be resumed after 1 month.

Price: €2,500 to €3,500, on a written quote after consultation (€100).

Why reduce labia minora that are too large?

The labia minora can naturally be large and protrude beyond the labia majora. The discomfort is both cosmetic and functional: rubbing against clothing, discomfort during intercourse. Real self-consciousness is often present.

Dr Médard de Chardon performs intimate surgery on women only.

Longitudinal or V-shaped reduction: which techniques?

There are two techniques. The choice is made at the consultation, according to the appearance of the labia minora.

The labia minora protrude beyond the labia majora: discomfort when dressing or during intercourse, or self-consciousness about their appearance.

Can the clitoral hood be reduced or the labia majora enhanced at the same time?

Yes. A clitoral hood reduction can be carried out during the same operation, to expose the clitoris more.

Over the years, the labia majora lose volume and firmness, which leaves the labia minora more visible. If they are atrophic, a labia majora fat transfer can be added: the re-injected fat restores their volume and covers the labia minora better.

It is the surgical reduction of the labia minora when they are too large. In French it is called nymphoplastie, and also labiaplastie or labioplastie.

Longitudinal or V-shaped labiaplasty: which should I choose?

The choice is made at the consultation, according to the appearance of the labia minora. Longitudinal reduction removes the excess along the edge; V-shaped reduction removes a triangle and then brings the edges together.

Is labiaplasty painful?

It causes little pain. It is carried out under general anaesthesia, as day surgery.

Are there stitches to remove after a labiaplasty?
